We currently host two events - one is Norman, OK (Central Summit) and one in San Marcos, TX (Southern Summit). These weekends are designed to be everything a homeschooling mom needs to REnew, REfresh and REstore the heart of the diligent, but often weary mother. These events were birthed by a sweet team of homeschool moms who wanted to share their struggles, hopes and dreams for their families in a safe, transparent, God-fearing environment.
Friday night is a chance to enter into worship, hear encouraging words, enjoy laughter. We also fellowship together, have an opportunity to win door prizes, and even see silly skits. In addition, Saturday is full of more encouragement through workshops, enjoying quiet in a beautiful prayer room, then chatting and sharing stories during the tasty seated lunch. Of course, there were more door prizes. There is time for you and your girlfriends to hang out, relax, lift one another up, laugh, fellowship, and (of course!) shop at the Summit Shoppe!
Our events are at the lovely Embassy Suites Hotels, noted for their spacious two-room suites, their made-to-order-full-serve buffet breakfasts, and the daily manager's snack time/happy hour --ALL included in hotel registration fee (NOTE: Hotel cost is not included in registration price to Summit). We highly recommend that you plan to stay overnight at the hotel, as this time really enhances the renewal of your get-away retreat.
The Winter Summit Sunday morning time together is a real bonus. We come together for worship and for the chance to hear testimonies of how others were encouraged during the weekend.
We prayerfully design a Summit weekend to specifically minister to the mother heart. Raising a family (and home-educating children) is a challenging and rewarding journey. If you homeschool, our events are a wonderful way to refresh your spirit halfway through the school year - equipping you for a strong finish! And if you DON'T homeschool, come anyway, many others have loved the great environment of encouraging the mother heart. We all need time away to enrich ourselves to pour back in to all that we love.
